What do I do if my player isn't showing up?

You may find that the Smart Podcast Player or Smart Track Player aren't showing up correctly on your page. This could look like either a blank space where the player should be, a player that's just an empty box, or a player with a spinning wheel icon. Here's how to go about troubleshooting a missing or faulty player:

  • If this is the first time you're adding the player to a page, check your shortcodeThis help article goes over some of the common issues that can cause a shortcode to fail to result in a player on the page.
  • If you previously had a working player on the page, but it's suddenly not appearing, it may be a caching issue. This can commonly happen when you update your version of the plugin. The first thing to do in this case is to clear your cache.
  • If you've tried troubleshooting your shortcode and clearing the cache, but the player still isn't appearing, you may need to adjust the player's download method and/or cache timeout settings. Follow the instructions in this help article under the sections titled Download Method and Cache Timeout.
